With the modified image, you have a lot more control cutting out “telemetry” and other parts of the software. Talk about service! If you want to take it further, you can do like I do and buy a license for NTLite, a program allowing you to modify the rom (also called other names like ISO, etc.). Extra support time, more control over features, AND you can ban updates. If you buy a device with windows 11, go buy a key for Windows 10 Enterprise and install that.
I would say to anyone, DO NOT GO TO WINDOWS 11! It is a shit show dumpster fire. In fact, the Lenevo super resilient bootloader vulnerability was due to APPROVED drivers installed by the OEM because their server was hacked and the virus was then put in the drivers of their computers. I also have questions on why they even need TPM considering safe boot tokens and other elements of “chain of custody” authentication have been subverted and bypassed to date. TPM does NOT add security like they claim, although if you run windows with the “secure boot” option turned on, it locks you into drivers that have paid microsoft for certification, and if they haven’t paid, it can default to non-descript drivers.
